About

Dromomania

An Uncontrollable impulse to travel

I think I’ve suffered from Dromomania all my life, travelling from a young age, living all around the world and I still have itchy feet . Having worked in the travel industry for over 35 years, I have visited as many places as possible , but in the words of Susan Sonntag:

I haven't been everywhere , but it's on my list

Nothing can beat having first hand experience of the places I send my clients to. Over the years, I have made important contacts in the travel industry and can often pull the proverbial rabbit out of the hat . I only work with the best operators in the business and I keep up to date with new hotel openings and am constantly learning about new products and trends.

My clients often have very busy lives, so I like to build up a relationship with them. I know their likes and dislikes, which airlines they prefer, maybe even if they like a particular seat number on the plane! I remember if they have special dietary requirements or if they are allergic to peanuts! I can only do this by taking on a relatively small number of enquiries and I like to think that I treat every one of my clients as if they were my only client. In turn, they need to have absolute faith in my advice and honesty, as they are often spending large amounts of money on their holiday!

All holidays are covered by ABTA and ATOL and I do not charge for my services. In most cases, if I spend weeks working on an itinerary for a client, there is an unspoken understanding that there will be a booking at the end. I work patiently and tirelessly until the booking is just right for my clients. I always try to find that needle in a haystack and my clients are often surprised when I find that elusive last room or seat on a plane! I don't give up easily.

I love a challenge! Intricate and complex itineraries are my speciality. These days, another hugely important consideration is how ethical the holiday is and I take this very seriously.

If you know where you want to travel, or if you need inspiration, I am full of ideas! I do not keep office hours and am happy to take calls or emails any time, seven days a week.
